years, primarily in marketing and promotions for Warner Brothers, Disney, and Nickelodeon.
As Vice President of Partnership Marketing for Warner Bros’ promotions agency, she managed tie-in promotions for Warner Bros. Theatrical and Home Video divisions where she developed a keen insight to stories that the middle grade market wants to hear.
About Ruff Riders
This is a story about a puppy rescue, led by a trio of 11-year-olds, with Olivia Thomas at its heart. Olivia longs for a dog of her own and must prove to her reluctant parents that she is responsible enough. Fate intervenes when an abandoned dog delivers a litter of puppies inside the forest, in her rural North Carolina home. Olivia will need to find a way to focus and persuade a lot of volunteers to help find and rescue Mama Dog’s puppies before it’s too late. Will she succeed? Even if she does, will her parents believe that she’s ready to take care of a puppy?
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to Rescue Ur Furever Friend, Garner North Carolina (NC RUFF), dedicated to saving thousands of stray animals in need of their forever homes.
Based on a true story...
RUFF Riders is uniquely based on the TRUE story about the dedicated animal rescue volunteers that rescued the author’s dog, Ruby. The team searched Forest Edge, rescued, fostered, and found forever homes for the puppies born to Mama Dog. Ruby’s was the last of at least 20 litters that sixteen-year-old Mama Dog had given birth to, since she had been abandoned as a puppy.
